“Nightmares at Daybreak…”

What people don’t realize about the video medium (TV, internet, etc) is that you have to be paitient. As I do more and more of this work and alot of my own editing I see it for myself. Constantly having to reassure people, “it’s coming, it’s coming” and not caving in until you are satisfied with your artististc vision. This is why I can appreciate being in this video “hip hop love story part 1 and 2″ by Labtekwon.

I was intrigued and more than happy to join him at his video shoot almost two years ago. Labtekwon is an extrodinary music maker, very diverse in his musical knowledge, and creative with the wild concepts. It was the one of my first times on camera and I got to portray one of the crazy nightmare ex-girlfriends…kind of a dream role. Taking part in this video shoot was also a precursor to working with my fellow mogul minded ladies of NYC, DJ Brina Payne and Mary Pryor. Flashback to First Saturday!

The Brooklyn Museum’s First Saturday is coming up tomorrow (8.7.10), with that being said, I wanted to revisit the energy and togetherness of July’s First Saturday Dance Party which was hosted by SocietyHAE.com! I’m proud to be apart of such a culturally forward thinking movement that “Team SHAE” is.

SocietyHAE.com Creative Director, Ngozi Odita put together an awesome program with The Brooklyn Museum that wasn’t just some DJ in a big room, but a true person to person, multi-media experience. We had a photographer, we had The Ahficionados on the wheels of steel, we had a HUGE screen that broadcasted our #15minsofFame twitter feed, and we had Team SHAE dispatched throughout the crowed parking lot TALKING TO party goers about what they would like as their 15mins of fame!

Funk The Formula: First Look

Yesterday I went to the Funk The Formula studio to pose in their new shirts and take some pics for their inaugural campaign.
