Haiti will stand again..

APTOPIX Haiti Earthquake

Peace fam!

On January 12th, 2010, Haiti was hit with 7.0 earthquake with over a dozen aftershocks, some of which reached as high as 5.9 on the Richter Scale, immediately bringing any already ailing country to its knees. As much as I hate to hear my ancestral land continuously discussed in the press over and over as the “poorest country in the western hemisphere”…it’s true and as an advocate for and a daughter of Haiti, I say now more than ever is the time to step up and help.

I’ll be posting some links that you can look through as far as donating time, money or goods for Haiti’s Earthquake Relief.

2009 Curtain Call…

My Little Tree

My Little Tree

2009. Is it over yet? Am I still alive? I guess I am, which means I haven’t hit celebrity status yet. But that’s just as well, because I spent 2009 harvesting an anti-climactic celebrity death between 2017- 2049. So look out for that. LOL

Morbid sense of humor aside, I have to say personally this year has blessed me with growth, new friendships and the ability to weed out parts of my life that weren’t as important as I thought. Over and over this year, I was celebrating “firsts”. First bit of press (by FreeHipHopNow.com), first episode of my web show “Taste Of The Town“, first time hosting a large scale concert (Rock The Block BK), first time hosting “A Monthly Bondfire” (June 09, all ladies edition). Those firsts, couldn’t have happened without people that helped me grow, friends that kept it real and gently let me fall. I would be remiss if I didn’t show love to Architects + Demolition Men, The Real Live Show, DJ Juice E, Dorian Chandler, Swirl PR, Conscious, The Bondfire Fam, the HAYS Family, Ngozi Odita, Daru & Rena Jones, Liv L’raynge, my She’s So Fresh Family, my fellow TWEET-HEADS, my parents, WBAI-NY and Rise Up Radio (<–my love) and my on-air brothers: MC Kswift, Digo, and Divino. I can go on for days, but I don’t want to. It’s time for a NEW year, a NEW you, a NEW me, NO resolutions, just…ACTION.

Bonus vid: I take you on a brief Christmas light tour down Brooklyn Avenue.
