I just updated my Voice123.com profile with something I’m very honored to have been a part of. My Rise Up Radio co- host and friend, M.C. K-swift asked me to do the intro to his latest album, The Proper Gander. M.C. K-swift, is an emcee, educator, radio host/producer. He is constantly creating thought provoking and moving rhymes without sacrificing your brain cells in the process. For me to be the first voice on his album, blows me away. Check it out:

Another voice over update: Remember the “Voice Overs in a box” post where they sent me a mic to do the project with?? Turns out that mic was an awful hot mess and all the actors had to redo hours and hours of their lines, including me. Hopefully the company learned something…you can’t skimp on product.

Book learnin’…

me: “NOPE. I got just got my LIBRARY CARD!”

When I was a kid and through to my teens, I used to read a lot. A few books never made it back to the library and then someone told me that they will come after you for the fees and I never went back to the library again. It’s funny what financial paranoia can do to you!!
In efforts to face my fear and having exhausted borrowing books from friends, I applied online for my New York Public Library Card and then I picked it up at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture (also a NY public library) in Harlem!
All this talk about books led to me doing a “Conscious Conversations” with I ARE CONSCIOUS, where he has quick random chats with interesting people in the artist community. Check it out:

Manifest it!

You can have whatever you want. I’m serious.
Just ask for it. Ask the universe, talk to a higher spiritual being of your choice, tell a friend, tell many friends! That’s the first step and based on my opinion and personal experience, it puts you in touch with like minded folks. People willing to share information or pass along a request, etc.
Second, you can’t just wake up all willy nilly and say, “I want a million dollars.” What are you DOING to get that million dollars? Let’s take me for example. I’ve been working on various projects and talking to different people and opening myself up to learning new things daily. One of the main things I wanted with my whole heart was to cover the SXSW indie arts festival in Austin, Texas. At the time, I had no idea how it was going to happen but I kept putting the message out into the world and I continued to put out consistent good work covering music around NYC and just like that, the website I blog for asked me if I would like to join them in covering SXSW.
Now, ask yourself again….what have you done for the million dollars?
In the end, it’s never about that immediate want. It’s not about that trip, it’s not about money, it’s not about that big ticket item. For me, it turns out the journey to the goal was as fulfilling as the manifestation itself. Somehow, I always end up on some crazy adventure.
